Remember this fella? 1996 Republican Presidential Primaries. Mr 17% flat tax across the board, the only idea of Forbes’s platform. With Forbes’s flat tax, we would have gotten rid of the IRS, loopholes in the tax code and… all these socialist oddities originated in the New Deal, such as Social Security. Simple and perfectly unfair. The rich pay the same percentage as the poor in taxes. In other terms, the poor bear the burden of the tax effort.
If Forbes’s campaign did not go very far, his ideas seemed to have percolated New York State Child Support Standards, which every divorced non-custodial parent is bitterly acquainted with. From $10,000 to $80,000 of annual income, the law prescribes the same senseless, flat, child support payments: 17% of your gross annual income for one child, 25% for two children, for more than two children, your better become a waiter or a cook in some fiscal paradises such as Barbados or Liechtenstein… It would not come to the mind of the legislator that 25% of your gross income in child support for instance, is not equally bearable whether you earn $20,000 or $80,000 a year. And let’s not mention that child support payments could vary with custodial parent’s income, that would be splitting hair.
I was told that New York has traditionally been a liberal state. When?

That’s pretty good…Texas has 20% for one child…nice, very nice…
Of course New York State is liberal! Haven’t you heard of a Senator who goes by the name of Hilary Clinton and voted for the war.. then against.. then for… that’s very liberal / free thinking!
If any NYC fathers out there are ever in front of magistrate Joette Blaustein..pack up and move out of the country.
This particular magistrate is an unfair, bias, unprofessional, bitter woman who will hit you up for the max regardless of what documentation your attorney may bring to court. By the way, I’m a woman, not a man writing this.
My friend’s gross income was $10,000. His business was suffering great losses and his house was in foreclosure. His attorney brought all necessary documents to court to prove the downward financial crises he was in. Joette Blaustein refused to listen to his attorney and orderd him to pay $1,000 a month until a future hearing, three months away.
What does he do, not pay and go to jail? Borrow money from family and friends even though he can’t pay his mortgage. Who would lend him $3,000 knowing he was already in financial woes?
I am a mother who works 16 hour days, 7 days a week, just so I can barely squeeze by. I do it all for my two boys, and because of that I miss so much time that could be spent with them? Should I take their father to court for child support? Well, that would be strange considering we are married. We both struggle together now, but it sure is funny that I could take him to the bank were we to seperate.
The problem is not just those women who abuse the system to their advantage. The problem lies within the system itself, and how it uses money as a symbol of good parenting.
Blaustein is a biased, incompetent “judge” that is a shame to the Judicial system. She is committing what is called an “ABUSE OF POWER” and “FAVORITISM” towards women.
Not all dads are “dead beat/lazy”. Women also have their bad apples: Did you know that some women are unscrupulous golddiggers? Flash news huh?
Several times, my husband has been in front of Blaustein, and NOT ONCE does she look at documentation. It is true what another commenter said, she is moody, and does what she feels like, not once are her actions in line with the law, or the regulations. She pretends that her OPINIONS are what the court orders should be. That’s not justice. That’s Blaustein running her sick anti-men show.
Justice will be brought to Dads in New York. I am putting together a case against her. She is unfit for legal duty. All of you who have had encounters with this feminist judge, email me. Like the previous poster, I too am a woman.
Email me at justice.dads@yahoo.com
Blaustein is very unfair and her cases should be under review.
I agree about Bleustein being biased. She is very unfair. Im a woman too.. There should be better solutions than her being unjust and being biased…?
Do you expect to put all those dads in jail if they cant pay the whole amount of money at the time they are asked to pay…? This is insane…
After reading the replies above, I’m totally screwed. It appears wheather you’re right or wrong, she will take the other side. I have a court appearance with this magistrate in December 22 and I’m now totally depressed knowing that I will not be treated fairly. Help! Anyone? Any suggestions?
